Guys,
I just wanted to share some good news. I had two approved LCs. One with PD EB3 ROW March 05 and the other with ROW EB3 March 06. I had already filed the I-140 for the March 06 but not for the March 05 one. That was because of the way the job requirement was worded in that LC. The attorney was not sure if it would be approved. Anyway since the earlier PD became current in June I decided to take a chance and file I-140 for that earlier PD LC with PP. And what do you know, it got approved today and that allowes me to file for AOS this month. It was a bit of a gamble with money but it worked!!! :cool:

My wife was on H4. Her VISA and I94 are expired. I'm still on H1 (valid). Our 485 applications are pending. We have valid EAD cards but not using them. Can I apply for my wife's SSN using the EAD Card + I485 Receipt? Or does she need to have valid I-94 along with the EAD to apply for SSN? Does she need SSN to work on EAD?

My lawyer is very scared to file my new case under EB2 PERM. His opinion is we may get an audit.

I met with a potential client who is an illegal immigrant living in the US. She has a child who is a US citizen. The father was voluntarily deported and the mother gave him permission to take the child back to their home country to visit the grandparents. The father was supposed to make sure the child returned to the US within 3 months. It has been 6 months. If my client files an application under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, will the US Government begin deportation proceedings?

I filed i485 after my i140 approved. But my company was sold to an other company. Till my company didn't file i140 amendment.

If you get your FP notice while in the US go to the ceter any day at 7.45 am before the center opens and request the staff to do the FP.They generaly oblige.I did it in Los Angeles.

Which state you are working in? If USCIS thinks Nebraska Service centre has the jurisdication for your I-485 based on Job location then their is nothing to worry.
Maybe your PD is current and USCIS wants to complete processing of your I-485.
I am in the same situation, my I-140 was approved from TSC about 3 months back in March 2008, and I-485 pending at NSC since august 2007. I work out of WA state.

Thanks Rune, that helps a lot. I am still wanting to know if anybody else uses this camera in the studio. Maybe this thread could evolve into something that others can post what they use. Thanks Milind70 & x1050US, In my case my wife's I94 is expired in Feb13, we filed for the h4 extension on Jan17 and she left US in May before her h4 is approved, can she still go for the VISA stamping with out the new H4 approval document (FYI i got my h1 approval notice and also stamping is done in India,Chennai )

Writing everything from scratch may be a waste of time if online retail is your goal.

hello all,
i filed my application on july 2nd to nebraska service center. Now i am filing my wife' application using the new updated 485 form. i sent my application to nebraska service center. i live in florida and in the new form i have noticed that they are asking people from florida to send 485 application to texas service center.
i am confused as to where i should send my application. i am attaching a sheet which asks mailroom to attach my wife's new application to already filed my application ( sent on 2nd july with no recepit ).. i am just confused that if i send my application to texas will it get attached to my primary already filed application... any one in same situation or any insite please help.

While my camera performed better than I expected from a late-90's era 2.7MP DSLR, I didn't fare so well, coming home with far fewer "keepers" than I would have liked. My greatest problem was that I either didn't set up a tripod or failed to increase the ISO to get more DOF in many landscape shots that needed it, and frequently I also got motion blur from lack of tripod usage. This experience has taught me that for me personally, even though the D1 is 2 stops faster than Velvia, I still must slow down and use a tripod - not only to prevent blur and enable slower exposures, but also to force a slower and more thoughtful pace of composition.

I am an F1 visa student and am marrying my sweetheart who is an American citizen. We are planning to pick up the marriage license tomorrow, in MA. I know one of the questions is "residence". Do I put my local residence (I've been here for about 6 years) or my foreign residence? I do not want to jeopardize my status.

since u'r a student in legal status & u live in US for last 6 yr..... so u've to have a US address..... i think it will be best to put US address..... it will keep things simple..... there is nothing wrong with u having a US address.... becoz u live here......

I had contacted all the senators and house reps in New Mexico via their website and heard back from Senator Jeff Bingaman.

Your lawyer is partly right. You can either petition once you are a citizen, or you can petition for a "hardship waiver" once you become a LPR(ie when you get a GC).
Not sure if you have visibility into when you may likely be getting your GC, but don't risk fudging the truth on the documents. You might get into more trouble than you already are. Remember that on a temp. visa like the H1, your rights are pretty much limited.
In my opinion, if you really want to stay in the US for the long term, you may be better off separated (unless the law changes), or move to another country. Note that there will be several hardships you may encounter..for example, simple things like opening a bank account, buying a home , renewing a driver's license, etc.,
I know this sounds harsh, but thats how it is. Purely my opinion.......

When I do my first time H1B visa renewal, will my new Marriage status disturb me to get the H1B renewal? should I just simply fill in the form saying I am "SINGLE" and not tell the consulate? Will the consulate know?
